Serendipity 1.7.8 released
Ian am um :
Never mind - Shit happens! ;-)
How to use the (~3min!) Serendipity Autoupdate to update to a new version:
- install the Spartacus event plugin, if not already have
- install the Dashboard event plugin,
- install the Serendipity Autoupdate event plugin,
- update all plugins, if any, via plugin management buttons,
- point yourself to the backends startpage, to start the automatic upgrade.
- let it run, after end, you will be redirected to the upgrader/installer page
- at last, you will have to start the database updates or update functions via button (auto recommended) or just take the link to the blog
If anything errors, come back to get help in the forum!

Good timing, I was just about to switch platforms from the awful wordpress... I'm hoping all the bugs are fixed now!

Wow, that's a lot of news for a change. I wish I had more time to check it out right away. Any way I will see what I can do. Thanks so far for all the work.
Yours John
