Serendipity Snapshot: New login hashing

Garvin am um :

anonym,

additionally to what Anonym wrote (that using salted passwords is quite secure on its own already), we cannot easily use any SHA2-type algorithm because it's not contained in vanilla PHP distros. Emulating it in PHP-Scope would be both slow and a risk in implementation.

Manolo, could you bring this matter to the forums? A blank mage most usually means a fatal PHP error, so if you have access to the PHP logs, you might be able to check for an error here?

Mandrake, have you tried clearing your browser cache? Have you checked if the mentioned file exists? You are using spanish, maybe xinha didn't deliver a spanish file with this?

For 1.4 beta-testers

Garvin am um :

Sadly, "as long as it takes". We're working on getting out a good and solid 1.4 releaser. There are a few minor issues that we want to get solved, as we have no time pressure that really requires us to get out 1.4 - the snapshots are currently well usable, and we want our releases not to require any last-minute patches. :-)

I would really like to make the fulltext search available.

However a patch like yours would break native german and french and other languages that use ASCII highbytes properly in ISO-8859-1 charset.

There needs to be another way to detect non-supported languages by the MySQL fulltext search other than using a high-byte Char lookup.

Actually the only way that a configuration of a plugin would be reset/replaced is if you did not perform an Upgrade, but a new installation over an existing one.
