New Plugin: My Calendar
Garvin am um :
No, the plugin doesn't yet support recurring events. Thanks for the reference to Sunbird, but I just can't get used to using any other calendar than my mobile phone :-D
SQL Speedup patch / Plugin API performance
Garvin am um :
There's a utility called "patch" with which you can apply the file. Copy+Paste the patch and save it as "api.diff". Go to your s9y directory and there use the "patch < api.diff" command.
You need to use a SSH or console application for this, it will not work if you only have FTP access; either way, the patch is more suited for people that know about patch/diff; for all other users an official release containing this patch will be made.

Serendipity 0.8.1 released

The "environment" are those which have usetranssid activated; those use an internal outputbuffering with which our method of gzip encoding does not cooperate.
About the categories, yes actually this would be best done with a plugin-mod. It really isn't that hard, but already the categories sidebar describes a list of all categories? You may also want to look at the customarchive plugin, it may be interesting for you.

Actually the old static page plugin is really not needed anymore; the way it stored its text is pretty awkward, so the new plugin should be preferred also in the "simple" cases. :)

Actually they will be part of this nights updated Spartacus run. You can also fetch it from here: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=75065
Apart from that, more information can be found on www.s9y.org.

The update should go smoothly: Just install the new plugin and visit your usual blog URL. The first call will migrate your existing static pages into the new structure and remove all other instances of the old static plugin.
And great you like the blog :-)
